Frost
The frost frame base is translucent with a matte finish. Your design is applied to the exterior of the frame and will show through on the interior.
Clear
The clear frame base is translucent with a shiny finish. Your design is applied to the exterior of the frame and will show through on the interior.
Matte Black
The matte black frame base is not customizable in any way, but is a fantastic accent for almost every design. If you choose matte black you will only be able to customize the temples/arms of the sunglasses.

Artwork File Requirements
Your artwork must be setup according to our guidelines.
Artwork Templates
There are two PSD design files: You can download our Photoshop templates for sunglasses. There is one for the front frame and one for the temples. Each of these files are set up so that you can quickly and easily drop in your artwork, save, and be ready for production!
- There is a folder in the layers panel called “Trim & Bleed.” The trim lines (the outline of the sunglasses component) will help you place your design; all designs must extend beyond the bleed (the white layer that defines the transparent area).
- There is a layer in the layers panel called “Place Your Design Here.” Place your design here.
- Your custom sunglasses will be created using the CMYK color profile our design files are already set up this way. (All other color profiles will be converted to CMYK before creating your custom sunglasses and slight color changes may occur as a result.)
Resolution
- To make sure that your custom sunglasses look great, we create them using a minimum image resolution of 300 dpi. We strongly recommend image resolutions of 600 dpi, and even better results can be achieved with higher resolution images. Use large, highquality, highresolution images for the best results!
- Below are image size guidelines for our design files for both 300 dpi and 600 dpi. These image sizes are from bleed line to bleed line, so if you have artwork that extends beyond our bleed lines (which is recommended), you’ll want to have a larger size image than what is listed here:

Transparency, The Color White, & Light Colors
Transparency
The manufacturing technology does support transparency! Note that any transparent areas of your design will show the selected frame base. For example, if you have a design with transparency that you apply to our frost frame base, the frost frame base will show through in the transparent areas.
The Color White
We do not print the color white. Any white in your design will effectively be treated as transparent and will show the selected frame base.
Light Colors
We strongly recommend against using light and/or low saturation colors in your designs. These colors get “washed out” and often appear as transparent when applied to our frost and clear frame bases. We recommend using bold, saturated, contrasting colors for the best results!
Design Registration, Text & Logos
An expected behavior of our manufacturing technology is something we refer to as the design shift. The application of your design to the blank sunglasses frame is an artistic process. Sometimes, during this process, the design placement will shift slightly.
It is for this reason that we cannot guarantee exact design registration and we strongly discourage the use of text, logos, and other design elements that require precise placement.
We frequently see this with design elements placed at the front of the temples, where traditional sunglasses carry their branding. While tempting, if text and/or branding is required for your design, we encourage you to find alternative methods for inclusion. Many customers find success including their text/logo as part of a pattern or an alloverprint.
Notice
We are not responsible for low quality designs or those that require precise registration. If you have any questions about your design, please reach out to us. Since we individually produce your custom sunglasses to your design specifications, we are unable to accept returns outside of those that fall under warranty.
